On The Edge of Exmoor

Watermouth Lodges is on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. The South West Coastal Path passes by the Lodges, making your holiday destination central to many fabulous coastal and moorland walks.

You can have sight of Exmoor ponies and deer and enjoy walking to lovely locations such as Combe Martin, Lynton and lynmouth and Ilfracombe. Watermouth is only a few miles away from Ilfracombe, a busy town and harbour that has recently become even more popular due to the arrival of Damion Hursts statue Verity.

This summer we had  a  long term visitor in Combe Martin and Watermouth bay, and that was Dave the Dolphin. The famous Dolphin who stayed around the coast and bay for up to 6 weeks making headlines on the local news. Many visitors enjoyed kayaking and getting up close to the dolphin, It was a fantastic sight! The Area has many beaches from long stretches of sand such as Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde, well known for its amazing surf. Or small coves such as Combe Martin and Newberry which are safe for families with lots of rock pools for the kids to have fun!
